Solgar's Evening Primrose Oil is a natural source of beneficial polyunsaturated fatty acid gamma linolenic acid (GLA). GLA belongs to Omega-6 fatty acids and is easily converted to prostaglandin E1 (PGE1), which is involved in the regulation of the cardiovascular, nervous and reproductive system.
Modern lifestyle, changes in dietary habits, cholesterol, saturated fatty acids, trans fatty acids, alcohol, excessive amounts of alpha-linolenic acid in the diet prevent the conversion of linolenic acid (GLA) to prostaglandin.
