Ensure that the forehead is clean and dry, with no hair, perspiration or other obstruction over the measuring area. Switch on the thermometer and select body-temperature mode if the specific model offers multiple measuring modes.

Point the sensor towards the centre of the forehead and hold the thermometer at the distance specified in the instruction manual for the particular model. Press the measurement button and wait for the temperature reading to appear on the display.

For reliable measurements, use the thermometer under stable environmental conditions and always follow the manufacturer's instructions. If an unusually high or low reading is obtained, repeat the measurement. Temperature measurement does not replace medical assessment when concerning symptoms are present.
