Astragalus root (Huang Qi) has been widely used in China for many centuries as a herbal tonic that stimulates the immune system.

Its active ingredients include flavonoids, free amino acids, trace elements and polyphenols.

The traditional medicine system of East and South Asia highly values the herb astragalus for its adaptive properties, such as increasing the body's resistance against physical, mental and emotional stress, as well as for its abilities, such as enhancing the "life force of the body" known as Qi (chi)*.
