Melatonin is a hormone synthesized in the pineal gland of the brain. Melatonin synthesis occurs exclusively during the night and is completely inhibited upon exposure to daylight. This fact betrays the important role that melatonin plays in sleep physiology.

In fact, 1 mg of melatonin per dose before bedtime helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep.

In addition to faster sleep onset, melatonin is also used to treat jet lag (time lag of the biological clock), a normal condition resulting from changes in the body's circadian rhythm, a consequence of rapid inter-continental transportation by aircraft. Relief from the subjective feeling of time lag of the biological clock with the intake of melatonin is ensured by the minimum intake of 0.5 mg of melatonin before bedtime, on the first day of travel and a few days after arrival at the destination.

Lamberts® Melatonin 1 mg provides 1mg of Pharmaceutical Grade melatonin per tablet.

The tablets are formulated in a rapid release formulation to ensure rapid release and absorption of melatonin by the body (<20 minutes after ingestion).
