Their main difference is that rubber is a plant product, while silicone is produced synthetically.
Therefore, the two materials have their own special characteristics. In the solid state, rubber is highly elastic and resistant to tears and bites.
However, because rubber is a natural material, contact with fats in food or exposure to sunlight can cause it to age faster than silicone.
Unlike rubber nipples, Nuk nipples from silicone are made of high quality polymer synthetic material.
The transparent silicone material is highly resistant to temperature and aging, while at the same time it is very easy to clean.
However, silicone is not as flexible and soft as rubber and is therefore more easily injured.
